Athena Academy's mission is to maximize our client’s safety and minimize the threat level. We can offer a high standard of trained female professionals worldwide to organizations in every aspect of the security industry, provide alternative security solutions, consultancy and training services to private and government entities.
Founded by Denida Zinxhiria and Rainey Shane in 2008, Athena Academy began with a mission to educate and empower women in personal security. In mythology, Athena was known for her intelligence and prowess in defense. Athena Academy helps women apply these ideals through professional training to ensure people are safer.
Ms. Zinxhiria, is one of the few certified female Close Protection Operatives, Security Consultant, Close Protection Instructor, Female Self Defense Instructor, Child Protection Operative and Maritime Security Consultant in Greece. She holds a degree in Counseling and Psychology, is trained in various martial arts, and has contributed as a private investigator and linguistic in cases with human trafficking from Albania to Greece. She is the creator of Nannyguards (SM) training program and services worldwide and today she holds the position of Worldwide Coordinator at Albanian Center of Studies Against Terrorism and Organized Crime.

Ms. Zinxhiria has been featured in Greek Cosmopolitan magazine and various martial arts magazines promoting female Close Protection Operatives. She has also appeared on television to speak on women in the security industry and anti-terrorism issues.

In 2008, Denida was introduced to Rainey Shane, a contemporary maverick businesswoman from the United States. With Rainey's law enforcement background and experience founding and operating a law enforcement, military and civilian training facility in Atlanta, GA, she was a perfect fit for Athena. Denida and Rainey joined forces to create and expand Athena Academy and Athena Worldwide making it a ground-breaking all-female owned security training and service provider.

Athena Academy is dedicated to teaching women to think about security from a new view point. In the past, organizations have tried to teach women to "even the playing field". We believe this approach ill-equips women to learn strategy over strikes. We keep it simple by using a modular "series of systems" designed to fit specific circumstances. The nuances of life affect different people in different ways, so essentially, students pick which applications benefit them the most.
